Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanom and his father Omar Ali were injured in an attack by some miscreants at the government residence in Khulna in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Wahida was admitted to Rangpur Doctors’ Clinic and is now in Intensive Care Unit. Her father was sent to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.
However, the local administration cordoned off the upazila parishad premises. Dinajpur-6 lawmaker Shiblee Sadik and Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md Mahmudul Alam and Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossen visited the spot.
According to source, some miscreants entered the government residence and hacked Wahida and her father around 2:30am.
Confirming the matter to Jago News, Amirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, said the reason behind the attack is not clear. They are looking into the matter.
