In a landmark verdict, the High Court on Wednesday said that the Hindu widows in Bangladesh will now enjoy rights in properties of husband.
The single bench of Justice Miftah Uddin Chowdhury delivered the verdict after final hearing of a case lodged in this connection.
According to Hindu Succession Act, a woman is not entitled to get rights in husband's property after his death, rather her sons enjoy so.
Daughters are also not entitled to receive the rights in their late father's property, as per the law.
