The government today further extended the closure of educational institutions except Qawmi madrasas across the country till October 3 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
M A Khayer, Information and Public Relations Officer of the Education Ministry, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Since March 17, the government has extended closure of the education institutions on several occasions and asked all students to stay at home during the pandemic.
Issuing circulars on May 31, the education ministry, however, allowed the education institutions to operate administrative activities and routine maintenance work following health guidelines.
To keep students in touch of academic activities, the Directorate of Primary Education and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education have organised broadcasting of class lessons for pre-primary to Class X students on the state-run Sangshad TV.
Schools, colleges and universities were also asked to continue online classes.
