India's coronavirus case tally rose to 29,75,701 on Saturday as it registered a spike of 69,878 cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As many as 945 deaths were reported in the country, taking the toll to 55,794.
Meanwhile, 63,631 recoveries were also reported, taking the total recovered coronavirus cases in the country to 22,22,577.
The number of active cases currently constitute 23.82% of total cases while the fatality rate of the country stands at 1.89 %. Recovery rate of the country is at 74.30%, according to Health Ministry data.
Meanwhile, India crossed the milestone of 1 million Covid-19 tests a day. As many as 3,44,91,073 samples have been tested for coronavirus till August 21, says Indian Council for Medical Research. On Friday, 10,23,836 samples were tested all over India.
