Sinha murder: 7 accused sent to jail after remand

A Cox’s Bazar court has sent seven accused to jail as police produced them before the court in a case filed over the murder of retired army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in Teknaf.

The court of Cox’s Bazar senior judicial magistrate Tamanna Farah ordered to send them to jail on Thursday. 

The accused are - Constable Safanur Karim, Constable Kamal Hossain, Constable Abdullah Al Mamun and ASI Liton Mia, police witnesses Md. Nurul Amin, Md. Nizamuddin and Mohammad Ayaz.

Earlier on August 12, the same court granted a seven-day remand for them after hearing a 10-day remand petition filed by the RAB.

Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan was shot dead by police during a search at Baharchara checkpost on July 31. A university student named Sifat was in his car at that time.
