State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim on Sunday said Facebook, Google and Microsoft have agreed with Bangladesh government to work jointly to remove untoward topics from Google, Facebook and YouTube. YouTube has promised to withdrawal video which goes against country’s principle, she told Parliament replying to a starred question from Awami League MP Begum Fazilatun Nessa Bappi.Law enforcers and Detective Branches are watching regularly the activities of fake Facebook accounts, websites, Facebook pages and blogs, she said.She unveiled that from July to December in 2015, Facebook has blocked 16.67 percent information and four contents as government asked them to remove the contents from the social site. Government and Microsoft are jointly working to prevent child pornography, she said. The Junior Minister also said government has taken necessary steps to prevent false, defamatory, harassing, malicious, militant, child abuse, obscene, and content which seems harmful for social and national values activities from the Facebook.
