Police on Saturday night held a leader of Islami Chhatra Shibir for his suspected involvement in murder of monastery worker Nitya Ranjan Pande in Pabna.The detainee is Ariful Islam, 23, son of Abul Kashem of Chargoshpur village of the district sadar upazila.He is the student of Islamic History of Pabna Government Edward College and Pabna west regional secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir. Munshi Abu Quddus, officer-in-charge (OC-Investigation) of Pabna Sadar Police Station, Ariful was held from a house of Bajitpur Ghat area of the upazila on Saturday night. He was admitted to Pabna General Hospital as he received injury falling down on the ground during detention.It is mentionable that, Nitya Ranjan Pande, 60, a monastery worker was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants on Friday in Pabna.
