Two Bangladeshi nationals were killed and 59 ones injured in a massive blast that rocked Lebanon's capital Beirut, claiming 78 lives and injuring nearly 400.
Among the injured, 10 were undergoing treatment at two hospitals while rest 49 discharged after treatment, said Abdullah Al Mamun, first secretary (labour) of Bangladesh Embassy in Lebanon.
Out of the deceased, one was identiied as Roni Mia, a worker, hailed from Brahmanbaria, and another, a member of Bangladesh Navy, from Shariatpur.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations said 21 members of Bangladesh Navy stationed in Beirut received injuries in the explosion.
The personnel were on duty at Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Bijoy under the Maritime Task Force deployed as part of UN Peacekeeping Mission in Beirut.
The ship was lightly damaged in the blast but most of the total 110 personnel escaped danger as they were not in during the explosion, said Abdullah Al Mamun.
One hundred people were killed and about 4,000 injured as a powerful blast occurred in a warehouse in Beirut around 6 p.m. (1500 GMT) on Tuesday, reports Reuters.
