Anu Muhammad, wife catch coronavirus

Noted economist Anu Muhammad and his wife Shilpi Barua have been infected with the novel coronavirus.

They both are now undergoing treatment at Mugda General Hospital in capital Dhaka, Anu Muhammad himself disclosed this to the repoters on Sunday.

The Jahangirnagar University's economics teacher said he tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and today got admitted to hospital.

He, member secretary of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports, also said result of his wife's coronavirus test came positive on July 28. 

Bangladesh first confirmed its coronavirus cases on March 8 and since then it has been struggling to limit spread of the deadly virus.

As of Sunday, 2,40,786 people contracted the virus and out of them 3,154 passed away in the country.
