The ruling party Awami League has fixed new date for its 20th triennial council on October 22-23, instead of its earlier scheduled July 10-11.The decision was taken from a meeting of highest decision-making body of the AL at Gono Bhaban with Party president as well as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Saturday.With the new date, the ruling party has changed its council date for the third time.The party’s last council was held on December 29, 2012. The current committee expired on December 28 last year. In January, the AL decided to extend the tenure of the committee by six months.
