17,000 workers ready to remove wastes of sacrificial animals

Dhaka North and South mayors Atiqul Islam and Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh respectively vowed to remove wastes of sacrificial animals within 24 hours.

For this, more than 17,000 workers, and 7500 heavy and light vehicles have been prepared.

Apart from this, bleaching powder and liquid disinfectant will be sprayed in the designated places of the two city corporations to protect environment and make it pollution free, according to the waste management division of DNCC and DSCC.

A good number of cleaners, including the cities' own, outsourcing and primary waste collection service provider, will also be in field.

Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims, is being celebrated across the country on Saturday.
