TeleHealth a new normal – What artificial intelligence can do?

Telehealth (or Telemedicine) is now widely used, and increased 700% in this COVID situation than before the pandemic started. Telehealth can be characterized as the “utilization of electronic data and communication technologies to help and support long-distance clinical medicinal services, patient and expert health-related education, public health and Healthcare organization. The webinar will focus on telemedicine and artificial intelligence, and how it can contribute in this pandemic situation. Specifically, telemedicine and Artificial intelligence (AI) in ophthalmology and other Medical Fields.

A/Prof. Md. Abdur Rakib Tushar MD, FCPS (Ophthalmology) is a Faco, Lasik and vitreo-retinal specialist. He is an Associate Professor at Ibrahim Medical College and BIRDEM General Hospital, and a consultant at Harun Eye Hospital. He is the Vice President of Bangladesh Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (BSCRS). 

Dr. Tushar will introduce telemedicine and his recent experience of patient care with telemedicine platform. 

Speakers: 

Prof. Theodore Smith, MD, PhD is a senior Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, USA. His specialties include retina - Medical & Surgical Ophthalmology. He is the director of the Retinal Imaging Laboratory at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary at Mount Sinai. He has published 100+ research articles in the top medical journals in ophthalmology and epidemiology. 

Prof. Smith will be discussing on the telemedicine and Artificial intelligence (AI) on retinal disease screening and prevention, specially, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy (DR) and glaucoma.

A/Prof. Alauddin Bhuiyan, PhD is the founder and CEO of iHealthScreen Inc. with holding an Associate Professor position at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is an inventor, innovator, computer scientist and with deep life science and medical technology expertise. He has been teaching universities from ~20 years. He was a faculty member in the department of Computer Science at New York University, University of Virginia and Shah Jalal University of Science and Technology. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Bhuiyan will be speaking on telemedicine and Artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of emerging medical applications and next generation medical systems.
