Traders and hawkers of different shopping centres in city’s Gulistan area engaged in a clash, leaving several people including a Deputy Commissioner of Police (Motijheel zone) injured on Friday noon.Witnesses said traders of Gulistan area engaged into a bloody clash while traders tried to drive the hawkers who were sitting in front of their shops to sell their goods in the noon.During the clash traders set on fire to the hawkers shops.After rushing on the spot police fired several rounds of tear shells to control the clash that broke out in front of the Dhaka Trade Centre, said Bachchu Mia, sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost.During the clash a police officer was injured and police arrested sever people in this connection, he added.Injured Deputy Commissioner (Motijheel division) Anwar Hossain was taken rushed to DMCH.Additionl policemen were deployed in the area to avoid awkward situation.
