Not public transport, but goods-laden vehicles will remain suspended for nine days during Eid-ul-Azha.
A meeting was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday where movement of launch, ferrry and steamer, and procedures to ensure passengers' safety were discussed.
State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury at the start of the meeting had said public transport will stay shut for nine days during Eid-ul-Azha.
But later he changed his statement, saying that not public transport, rather goods vehicles will remain suspended for five days before and three after the Eid.
