The roads and highways authority has suspended communication on Dhaka-Sylhet highway from today to June 22 for reconstruction of ‘Sherpur Bridge’ on Kushiyara River.Monirul Islam, executive engineer of Sylhet roads and highways authority suggested in a press release to use Moulivibazar-Rajnagar-Fenchuganj highway as alternative route.The road on the alternative route is not good and vehicles need to run extra kilometers and it will take more hours to reach Sylhet from Dhaka.The highway will be resumed on June 22 after completing the reconstruction works, he added.
