Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday said whereabouts of Regent Hospital owner Sahed Karim would be disclosed soon.
"RAB and police both are trying to nab him (Sahed). We think we can give information soon," he told reporters at his Dhanmondi residence.
"Whatever he is much powerful, he will be brought to book," Kamal added.
Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion has sealed off main office, Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hospital after various allegations, including issuing fake COVID-19 certificates, surfaced against authorities of the private facility.
The hospital chairman Sahed had gone into hidding since the elite force conducted drive in the establishment.
Later, a case was filed with Uttara West Police Station against him and 16 others in this connection, and police issued a ban on him to leave the country.
Sahed had been introduced himself as member of international affairs sub-committee of Awami League central committee but the party denied, saying that he would do politics of BNP.
Home Minister said Sahed phoned him on July 7 during RAB's drive at Uttara branch of Regent Hospital.
"Once I called him about admitting a patient to his hospital. In that connection, he phoned me, saying that his hospital is being sealed."
"I told him you certainly did any wrongdoing, that's why they sealed it," Kamal said.
The minister went on, "He said so what will I do? I told him either you face or going to court..... you go to court if you have something to say."
"Prime Minister did not spare lawmaker, even does not do so her party leaders. You talk about whom (Sahed), there is no question to spare him if his guilt is proved," the home minister added.
