A Dhaka court has fixed August 31 for submitting probe report in a lawsuit lodged against Regent Group Chairman Md Sahed and 16 others for allegedly issuing COVID-19 certificates without conducting test.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yeasir Ahsan Chowdhury on Wednesday set the date after taking statement of the case.
Besides, the same court granted five-day remand against seven employees of Regent Hospital Ltd in a case filed with Uttara West Police Station.
Various allegations surfaced against Regent Hospital authorities. One is that they have been issuing COVID-19 certificates without conducing test of more than half of the collected samples.
Earlier on Monday, RAB executive magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted a mobile court at Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hospital.
In the drive, several allegations, including providing fake report, charging Taka from patients in the name of coronavirus treatment, were found against the authorities.
Later, seven were detained from there and taken to the custody of the elite force.
