Renowned playback singer Andrew Kishore has not died but his physical condition worsened.
Bangladesh National Film Award winner singer Farid Ahmed music director on Sunday confirmed Andrew Kishore is alive.
Earlier today a rumour spread on social media that Andrew Kishore, who has been suffering from cancer, passed away.
"Legend singer Andrew Kishore is still alive but his physical condition deteriorated. He cannot talk. You all pray for him," Farid said.
The playback singer returned home on June 11 from Singapore after he underwent treatment of cancer in the island nation for long nine months.
Now he is staying in Rajshahi alongwith his sister Shikha Biswas.
The popular singer sang thousands of song. Some notable are: "Jiboner Golpo Achhe Baki Olpo", "Dak Diyachhen Doyal Amare", "Haire Manush Rongin Fanush", "Amar Shara Deho Kheyo Go Mati", "Amar Buker Moddhe Khane", "Amar Babar Mukhe Prothom Jedin Shunechilam Gan", "Bhengeche Pinjor Meleche Dana", and "Shobai To Bhalobasha Chae".
Kishore won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer eight times for the films Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo (1982), Surrender (1987), Khotipuron (1989), Padma Meghna Jamuna (1991), Kabul (1996), Aaj Gaye Holud (2000), Saajghor (2007) and Ki Jadu Korila (2008).
