The authorities of Chittagong University (CU) has put the campus under lockdown for 14 days from today’s morning to stop spread of coronavirus.
University’s Acting Registrar Professor S M Monirul Hasan confirmed the matter.
He said, the university will remain under lockdown from July 4 to July 17. The administrative activities of CU will run from Fine Arts Institute office in the city during the lockdown.
CU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shirin Akhter took the decision at an emergency meeting with the syndicate members, he added.
To be noted, Deputy Registrar Mohammad Jahangir tested positive for coronavirus in the last week. Besides, two coronavirus patients were detected at Shobha Colony adjacent to CU 2 No gate.
