Four people were killed in two separate incidents of lightning strikes in Hatibandha and Patgram upazilas of Lalmonirhat district on Thursday morning.
In Hatibandha, thunderbolt struck two people in a waterbody in Tongbhanga Union when they were catching fish, leaving them seriously injured.
They, later, died on the way to Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased were identified as Montu Hossain, 30, and Ati, 35, residents of Bejgram area in the upazila.
In Patgram, two people died after being struck by lightning strikes when seven to eight people were catching fish in the Sakoa river.
Deceased Zahedul Islam, 30, and Rakib Hasan, 25, were residents of Islmapur village in the upazila.
Hatibandha Police Station officer in-charge Omar Faruk and Patgram Police Station OC Mozammel confirmed the matters.
