The district health department today identified nineteen areas of Narayanganj as red zone due to high coronavirus infection risk.
A letter has also been sent to Central Technical Committee, who monitor coronavirus situation, for taking further step.
The areas, which are identified as red zone, are: 3 No ward of Narayanganj sadar, 3 No ward of Enayetnagar, 3 No ward of Kolagachia in Bandar upazila, 3 No ward of Aminpur in Sonargaon upazila, 1 No ward of Mugrapara, 3 no ward of Araihazar union in Araihazar upazila, 3 No ward of Haijadir, 3 No ward of Brahma Mandir, 3 No ward of Bhulta, 2 No ward of Kanchan, 2 and 3 No ward of Tarabar in Rupganj upazila.
Besides, ward No 1, 2, 8, 12, 13, 18 and 24 of Narayanganj City Corporation have also been identified as red zone.
Dr Jahidul Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer and also Narayanganj District Corona Affairs Focal Person, said some areas of the district have been identified as red zone and they sent a letter to Health Directorate office in this regard.
