Bangladesh recorded 3,412 more coronavirus cases and 43 the virus deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
With this, the country's total number of infections and fatalities stood at 119,198 and 1,545 respectively.
A total of 65 labs across the country tested 16,292 samples in the past day, prof Nasima Sultana, additional director general of DGHS came up the disclosure at its daily health bulletin on Tuesday.
During the period, 880 more patients made recovery, taking the total to 47,635, she added.
Prof Nasima said in the bulletin that detection rate of new patients was 20.94 percent.
The rate of recovery, so far, was 39.96 percent while mortality rate 1.30 percent, the oficial also said.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been witnessing increase in the infections and deaths.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to 213 countries and territories.
As of Tuesday the epidemic infected 9,202,551 people and killed 474,668 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, total recovery from the coronavirus pandemic reached 4,953,899 across the world.
