The number of coronavirus recovered patients in Bangladesh has passed 45,000 as 1084 more people made recovery in the last 24 hours. The total number of cured patients now stands at 45,077.
Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of Health Directorate, said while presenting the daily health bulletin on Sunday.
The death toll from coronavirus has reached 1,464 as 39 more people died. Besides, 3,531 more have been infected with the virus, taking the number of such cases to 112,306, she said.
Bangladesh reported its first three cases of COVID-19 on March 8.
The new coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year.
The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
The deadly virus spread to 213 countries and territories, killing some 467,068 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 8,936,522 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 4,751,072 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
