JS directs lawmakers for corona testing

The Jatiya Sangsad has directed the 170 lawmakers, who will attend in the running sessions, for the testing of coronavirus.

The adjourned budget session will start from June 23 while the lawmakers will join gradually.

In this connection, Chief Whip Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury said, a letter has been sent to the 170 lawmakers, who will attend in the upcoming four working days of the session, to test their samples for coronavirus. Of them, 20 gave their sample on Saturday and the rest will give their samples today.

According to the source, fifteen ministers and lawmakers have tested positive for coronavirus as of Sunday. Ninety-four officials and employees of the parliament secretariat and 82 ansar members have also been infected with the virus.

The budget session started from June 10. As part of the programme to stop spread of coronavirus, the people worked in the parliament were asked to test coronavirus. The test began from June 2.
