Bangladesh national cricketer Nazmul Islam Apu has been infected with the novel coronavirus, a couple of hours after the former skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and ex-cricketer Nafees Iqbal caught the deadly virus.
In a day, the news of three cricketers' being infected with coronavirus one after another saddened the fans havily. They were seen praying for quick recovery of them on social media platforms.
"I went to Narsingdi last week for relief distribution and after coming from there I felt sick. I gave sample on Wednesday for coronavirus test and the results came positive this afternoon," Apu said.
The left-handed batsman and left-arm orthodox spin bowler also said he is now in isolation at home.
Earlier today, personal assistant of Narail-2 MP and former Bangladesh Cricket Team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza told media that the cricketer-turned-politician tested positive for COVID-19.
Hours before the disclosure of Mashrafe's infections, former cricketer and ODI captain Tamim Iqbal's elder brother Nafees Iqbal himself informed the mass media that he has coronavirus.
