The coronavirus sample testing will remain closed in Mymensingh from today until further notice due to technical glitch and shortage of test kits.
Civil Surgeon Office in Mymensingh confirmed the closure in a facebook post on Wednesday night.
Confirming the matter, Civil Surgeon of Mymensingh Dr A B M Masiul Alam said, the decision was taken due to technical glitch and shortage of test kits. The problem will be solved within one or two days.
He requested all not to give their samples to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) for coronavirus testing.
Dr Chittaranjan Devnath, Principal of the hospital, said they didn’t test any sample at the PCR lab of Microbiology Department of the hospital due to technical glitch on Wednesday.
So far, more than 24,000 samples have been tested in the lab after its operation began in March.
