33 doctors die from Covid-19 in Bangladesh

Physicians, nurses, and other health workers in Bangladesh have been contracting COVID-19, the disease caused the novel coronavirus.

As of Saturday, 33 doctors died from COVID-19, according to Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA). 

The organization said 1003 physicians, 853 nurses and 1308 other health workers have, so far, caught the disease across the country.

Bangladesh surpassed China in coronavirus cases, with with 84,379 total infections.

The country today recorded 2,856 more cases in the past 24 hours, said the Directorate General of Health Services.

The health authorities also reported 44 new deaths from the deadly virus, bringing the tally to 1139.

First coronavirus cases were detected in Bangladesh on March 8 and since then the pathogen kept spreading fast.
