The owners of the all shopping malls, and commercial complex in Sylhet have waived half rent of April and May each considering their losses caused by the coronavirus lockdown.
Sylhet shopping and commercial complex owners group took the decision on Thursday, said a press release on Tuesday.
The press release read markets owners and traders have incurred losses due to more than two months' closure to curb the virus spread.
Taking the hardship of the shopkeepers into account, the owners group made the decision of rent waiver.
Sylhet shopping and commercial complex owners group president engineer Mostafa Shahriar Chowdhury presided over the meeting.
