Libya probes murder of 26 Bangladeshis

The Libyan Interior Ministry is investigating, through Mizda town's security department, the murder of a Libyan national and 30 illegal immigrants in the town.

In a statement on Thursday, the Interior Ministry said a Libyan national in Mizda, accused of human trafficking, was killed by illegal immigrants while he was smuggling them to coastal cities, reports Libya Observer.

The Ministry added that the relatives of the Libyan national took the law to their own hands and committed vendetta crimes by murdering 26 people from Bangladesh and four from African countries, in addition to injuring 11 others.

The Interior Ministry instructed Mizda security department to take the necessary legal action to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice, saying whatever the motive behind the mass murder crime was, the law doesn't permit people to take matters into their own hands.
