An official of Bangladesh Bank (BB) died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, early Thursday.
Deceased Ashraf Ali, 60, served the central bank as joint manager.
He breathed his last at city's Regent Hospital around 2am, the hospital PRO Tariq Shibli told Jago News.
Earlier seven people worked with different banks died from coronavirus, and 60 ones contracted the deadly pathogen, sources in institutions concerned said.
