The government has allowed public transport to resume operation in limited scale from May 31 after more than two month-closure.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain on Wednesday night told Jago News, "As per Prime Minister's instruction, public transport with limited number passengers can be operated from May 31 following health guidelines."
The decision is also applicable to vessel services and train, he added.
Earlier today the state minister said the government has decided not to extend the ongoing general holiday beyond May 30.
Bangladesh announced general holidays from March 26 in an effort to stem the novel coronavirus transmission. Later the holidays were extended till May 30 in phases.
