Three members of a family were found dead in Rangpur on Saturday morning.
The incident took place at a house of Balapara village under Barabeel union in Gangachara upazila of the district.
The deceased were identified as Hafizul Islam, 30, his wife Fatema Begum and their 1.5-years-old daughter Humaira.
Barabeel union parishad chairman Afjalul Haque said, after being informed he rushed to the spot and spotted Fatema and her daughter Humaira’s were lying on a bed with their throats slit and Hafijul was in hanging condition.
Hafizul might have slaughtered his wife and daughter and, later, committed suicide by hanging himself, local suspect.
Gangachara Model Police Station OC Sushanto Kumar Sarker said the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue.
