Gonoshasthaya Kendra today submitted 200 locally developed rapid testing kits to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for validation.
It also gave BSMMU Tk 4,35,000 as testing expenditure.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder and Trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury said, Dr Bijon Kumar Shil, the lead researcher of Gonoshasthaya Pharmaceuticals, and Dr Mohibullah Khandakar, vice-principle of Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, submitted the kits to BSMMU around 11am.
"We hope they will start testing the kits soon," he also said.
Earlier on Tuesday, BSMMU authorities sent a letter to the Gonoshasthaya Kendra seeking 200 kits and Tk 435,000 as a cost for the test.
