Shopping malls and markets in Manikganj were shut again as the traders and buyers both were not complying with the health guidelines issued to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
The deputy commissioner and district magistrate SM Ferdous took the decison two days after the business establishements with government permisssion reopened, a press release said on Tuesday.
The press release read the government allowed shopping malls and markets to resume ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr but at least 90 percent traders and buyers did not comply with the health guidelines.
In this situation, the decision of closure for indefinte period was taken considering health protection of Manikganj residents.
Earlier on May 4, the government permitted the shopping malls and markets across the country to operate on a limited scale from today.
But the authorities of a good number of shopping malls and markets decided to keep the establishments shut until Eid-ul-Fitr to curb the virus spread.
