The members of Bangladesh police are being infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) significantly, with 144 more caught the virus in the past 24 hours.
As of Friday, 1429 cops tested positive for the deadly virus and six died, according to the data provided by the force's different units.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has been hardest hit with 708 personnel contracted the virus.
Some 96 cops, however, recovered from the epidemic.
Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, and since then it has been seeing hike in the number of infections and deaths.
Today the country recorded 709 coronavirus patients, taking the total to 13,134, and total deaths 206.
