One more member of Bangladesh Police died from novel coronavirus or COVID-19 on Wednesday morning.
Roghunath Roy, 48, Assistant Sub Inspector of Public Order Management of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, breathed his last at Rajarbag Central Police Hospital at 8:20am.
With this, so far six members of police died from the disease.
Police Headquarters confirmed the death in a press release.
According to the police source, Roy was receiving treatment at the hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus. He was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital after his health condition deteriorated.
Roy left his wife, a son and a daughter to mourn his death. His body was sent to his home town Lakkshmipur.
