The Bangladesh central bank has announced special stimulus for the bank employees who will go to office at least for 10 days in a month during the general holidays imposed by the government.
They will receive salary of current month, and that of extra one month as allowance for doing office with risk among COVID-19 outbreak, according to a circular issued by Bangladesh Bank's Banking Regulation and Policy Department on Monday.
Letter regarding this has already been sent to the managing directors and chief executives of all scheduled banks.
The circular read if an employee goes to office for at least 10 days during the general holidays, it would be considered as full month, and he/she will receive salary of current month and that of extra one month.
Issued under section 45 of Bank Company Act, 1991, the BB circular also said counting of the month of special stimulus will begin from the starting date of general holidays or from March 26.
Earlier on Sunday, the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB) announced that if any employee of private banks feel sick or contracts coronavirus while doing official work, the bank concerned will bear his whole treatment costs.
Bangladesh government has announced general holidays until April 25 to curb the spread of the coronavirus. During the holidays that later turned into lockdown, all kinds of business establishments are closed but banking sector is in operation.
