Two suffering from fever, cold die in DMCH isolation unit

Two people suffering from fever, runny nose and cough have died in the isolation unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

They were in their 65s and 32s, confirmed the hospital official Dr Alauddin Al Azad on Wednesday evening.

Azad said, "They were admitted at isolation unit with fever, runny nose and cough. After their deaths, samples of them were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) to know whether they contracted COVID-19."

A source at DMCH said one of the deceased passed away on Tuesday night while the rest died early Wednesday.

The bodies were kept in morgue, the DMCH official said, adding that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives if the dead men's samples are found negative for the novel coronavirus.
