Man dies in quarantine in Sylhet

A person, who was in home quarantine, died in the Sylhet city housing estate area on Tuesday night.

The deceased 65-year-old man was already under regular dialysis treatment due to his kidney complications.

According to the source, his son reached home from UK on March 14 and he started to experience shortness of breath on March 15. As he was taken to the Kidney Foundation in Sylhet, the duty-doctor advised him home-quarantine after listening to his case history.

Later, the health officials of Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) also ordered him to stay in home quarantine where he breathed his last at 9am.

Confirming the matter to Jago News, Rejaul Hasan Kayes Lodi, SCC ward councillor said: “Following the advice of deputy commissioner and civil surgeon, he was buried last night without causing any delay and public gathering.”

No tests were done to confirm whether he was infected with coronavirus or not, Lodi added.

To be noted, Bangladesh reported the fourth death from the novel coronavirus and six new cases in the country on Tuesday.
