Doctors who treated coronavirus patients now in quarantine

Four physicians of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have been quarantined at their respective homes after four people whom they treated at the hospital caught the deadly epidemic, novel coronavirus.

Recently COVID-19 symptoms appeared in four patients at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and they were referred to Kuwait Maitri Hospital, and Kurmitola General Hospital. 

Later, the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) diagnosed them and confirmed they contracted COVID-19. That is why, the doctors were also sent to home quarantine, DMCH principal professor Khan Abul Kalam Azad told Jago News. 

Bangladesh on Wednesday reported that an Italy returnee of Gazipur was infected with the coronavirus, raising the country's tally to 11.  

The coronavirus pandemic first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to at least 165 countries and regions, killing 7,987 people globally.  

The virus, also called COVID-19, infected as many as 198,422 people across the globe, according Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

The website also said around 82,762 people recovered from the virus.
