SCBA re-elects Amin Uddin as its president

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has re-elected AM Amin Uddin, and elected Md Ruhul Kuddus Kazal as its president and secretary respectively for 2020-21 term.

Out of total 14 posts, BNP-backed blue panel secured a total of eight, including of secretary, while pro-Awami League white panel six, including president in the SCBA polls.

Amin Uddin defeated his nearest rival BNP-backed president candidate advocate Joynul Abedin by 912 votes to 3,370.

On the other hand, secretary candidate from blue panel barrister Ruhul Kuddus bagged 3,076 votes to beat his nearest rival and white panel's advocate Shah Munzurul Haque.

SCBA chief election commissioner senior lawyer A F Hasan Arif announced the results on Friday morning.
