Seven suspected members of a robber gang and a drug peddler were killed in separate ‘gunfights’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district early Monday.
Seven members of ‘Jokey Group’, a gang of robbers, were killed in the gunfight during a drive on a hill in the area in the early morning, said Mirza Shahed Mahtab, company commander of RAB-15.
Teknaf BGB commander Lt Col Md Foysol Hasan Khan said a drug peddler was killed and three BGB members were injured in a gunfight near Jadimora canel. The body was kept at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.
