This year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) season will start on March 29th at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The entire tournament will last for 57 days of the IPL will be played on May 24th, reports The Economic Times.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians will host three-time winners Chennai Super Kings in the first match on March 29, the Indian cricket board (BCCI) said on Tuesday.
There will just six afternoon games this year and will be no doubleheader matches on Saturdays. The double-headers are now only limited to Sundays. Night matches will commence at 8, while the afternoon games will be beginning at 4 PM.
The IPL will run six days longer than last year, with the extra days necessitated by the decision to do away with double-headers on Saturdays.
While the BCCI revealed the league fixtures it did not disclose the venue of the May 24 final for the eight-team tournament, which begins 11 days after India's home ODI series against South Africa.
The last league game will be played on May 17 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
