Police cordon off BNP’s central office

Police today cordoned off the BNP’s central office in Dhaka’s Naya Paltan ahead of the party’s scheduled march to demand the release of jailed Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Police did not allow anyone to stand in front of the office for the protest programme. 

Party leaders and activists are staying inside of the central office since morning.

BNP’s publicity secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anny said that we informed DMP commissioner for permission to stage demonstration. We were asked that they will inform us around 10am on Saturday but didn’t inform yet.  

BNP on February 12 announced of bring out the procession from their Nayapaltan central office at 2pm on Saturday and it will end at the Jatiya Press Club.
