DU, BUET finally consent to hold uniform entry test

Dhaka University (DU), and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have finally given their consent to the uniform admission test system for public universities.

As a result, entry test of the country's all public universities will be held in combined system from academic sessions 2020-21.

The final decision was taken unanimously in a meeting with University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman professor Dr Kazi Shahidullah in the chair on Wednesday, said an UGC press release.

Vice-chancellors of 12 public universities, including DU, BUET, Jahangirnagar University, and UGC members were present at the meeting.

Earlier, DU, and BUET were uninterested in UGC's move to hold uniform admission test. VCs of the two universities also did not attend yesterday's meeting where UGC decided that all universities will organise uniform admission test from the 2020-21 academic session.
