Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that four state-owned banks come in the stock market by October with a view to strengthening the market.
"We want to strengthen the share market at any cost. So, four more government banks come to the market by October," he said.
The minister said this after a meeting at Finance Ministry held on Sunday to fix what to do about bringing state-owned banks to the stock market.
Presided over by the finance minister, Bangladesh Bank's governor Fazle Kabir, Financial Institutions Division senior secretary Asadul Islam, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission chairman professor M Khairul Hossain, among others, were present at the meeting.
