A former local leader of Awami League (AL) was slaughtered to death by the miscreants at Companyganj upazila in Noakhali on Saturday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Md Sourav Hossen, 40, former president of Char Elahi union 6 No ward AL.
Md Arifur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Companyganj Police Station, said the throat-slit body of Sourav was recovered. It is not known who killed him.
They are looking into the matter, the OC added.
