The High Court has asked not to arrest and harass six people, including daily Prothom Alo Editor and Publisher Matiur Rahman, and Deputy Editor Anisul Hoque, in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC) student Naimul Abrar Rahat.
The bench of justices Obaidul Hasan and AKM Zahirul Haque passed the order on Sunday after hearing on their bail plea.
Full hearing on the bail seeking would be held by the same HC bench on Monday.
Eminent lawyer Barrister M Amir Ul Islam, stood for Matiur Rahman and five others in court, came up with disclosure before journalists.
Rest four who sought bail are: Mahitul Alam Pavel, senior assistant editor of Kishor Alo, Kabir Bakul, head of event and activation of Kishor Alo, Shah Paran Tushar and Shuvashish Pramanik, executives.
Earlier on January 16, Dhaka's Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Islam issued arrest warrant against Prothom Alo Editor and Publisher Matiur Rahman, Deputy Editor Anisul Hoque and eight others in the case after accepting chargesheet.
Ninth grader Abrar died from electrocution during a program organized by Kishor Alo, a monthly youth magazine of Daily Prothom Alo, on the school premises on November 1.
Later, Abrar's father Mojibur Rahman lodged a lawsuit with Mohammadpur Police Station in this connection.
