Death of Abrar: Prothom Alo Editor faces arrest warrant

An arrest warrant has been issued against daily Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, Associate Editor Anisul Haque and eight others in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College (DRMC) student Abrar Rahat.

Dhaka's Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Islam passed the order after accepting chargesheet of the case. 

Ninth grader Abrar died from electrocution during a program organized by Kishor Alo, a monthly youth magazine of Daily Prothom Alo, on the school premises on November 1.

Later, Abrar's father Mojibur Rahman lodged a lawsuit with Mohammadpur Police Station in this connection.
