Sheikh Hasina accorded red carpet reception in Japan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was accorded a red carpet reception as she arrived Japan’s Nagoya on Thursday evening on a four-day official visit to Japan.During the visit, Sheikh Hasina will attend the Outreach Meeting of the G7 nations, a grouping of seven advanced economies, at the invitation of Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe.The Outreach Meeting will be held in the central Japanese city of Ise-Shima in Mie Prefecture tomorrow. It’s a part of the two-day G7 Summit that began in Ise-Shima today.A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage members landed at Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya at 7:05 pm (Japan Time).Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Rabab Fatima and Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Miki Yamada received the Premier at the airport, reported BSS.A smartly turned-out contingent of Japanese armed forces presented a guard of honour as the Prime Minister alighted from the aircraft. She was also greeted with a bouquet of flowers.

From the airport, the Prime Minister in a ceremonial motorcade was taken to Hotel Hilton Nagoya, where she will be staying during the visit.Earlier, the Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10.10 am for the Japanese city of Nagoya.Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Chief Whip of the Jatiya Sangsad ASM Feroze, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy were present at the airport to see the Prime Minister off.Besides, the cabinet secretary, the chiefs of three services, the dean of the diplomatic corps and high civil and military officials were also present.Sheikh Rehana, the younger daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali are accompanying the Prime Minister.
